If you have a love for nature coupled with a thirst for learning; The Montezuma National Wildlife Adventure Tour is the activity for you.  We will lead you on a guided exploration of this preserves’ many marshes, pools and channels which have become a vital feeding and nesting habitat for migratory waterfowl while learning what is required to make a site like this productive for the many species of wildlife found at this refuge.  We will delve into the history of this remarkable landmark and how its designation changed over the years, eventually settling on the name: Montezuma. You’ll hear how the first bald eagle hacking program ever attempted on the North American continent came into being and learn bits & pieces about these majestic birds.

This one-of-kind activity offers locals & travelers who have a thirst for learning and a love of nature an opportunity to observe nature at its finest.  You will experience The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge with area locals as we explore its many marshes, pools and channels. We’ll explore a bit of this sanctuary’s landscape on foot and then take a short (3.5 mile) drive by car to observe the numerous wildlife in their natural habitat.
