Happy birthday, SFHS! The Seneca Falls Historical Society is celebrating our 130th birthday. On October 18, 1896, a group of Seneca Falls residents got together to form the Seneca Falls Historical Society to preserve the community’s heritage and traditions. One hundred thirty years later, SFHS continues to steward the history of Seneca Falls and Seneca County and to share the stories of our people, places, and events.
SFHS Curator Autumn Thaggard celebrates the history of SFHS with a presentation titled “Preserving the Fabric of Our Past: The History of the Seneca Falls Historical Society.” This program will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m. in the dining room of the Becker Mansion, located at 55 Cayuga St. in Seneca Falls. Admission costs $8 for SFHS members and $10 for nonmembers. Registration in advance is welcome but not required.
