The candidate must also have experience working in the hospitality/customer service industry. We are seeking someone that knows how to motivate a team, train others in a detailed fashion, create fun and memorable experiences for guests, and role model the spirit of hospitality to the rest of our staff. As a key member of a tightly knit team, excellent communication skills are a must, along with good organization and record keeping skills. The candidate needs to be able to work independently and problem solve on their own, accomplishing highly detail-oriented tasks. Able to comfortably lift 45bs repeatedly (case of cider). And above all, we are looking for someone who can bring a positive attitude and good energy to the challenging tasks of a hospitality focused business.
Job Details
This job is a service, sales, and leadership position in our integrated farm cidery team. We want someone who can be part of our full-time team for many years to come. The Taproom Manager will work directly with the owner of the business and our Executive Chef to create a fun and engaging hospitality experience for our customers. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the taproom daily operations, working hands on directly with our customers and our service team (5-15 people, seasonally). This involves educating customers and staff on our products, ensuring efficient and high-quality food/beverage service, ensuring safe and compliant alcohol service, managing POS systems, completing and facilitating all opening/closing duties, and building a seasonal team of hospitality focused people to represent the work of the Cider House. This is a service, sales, and leadership role. The successful candidate will be someone with excellent communication who can enthusiastically lead, inspire, and educate others. This is a customer facing role at least 80% of the time with the remainder of time spent on the administrative duties of hiring, scheduling, and training our hospitality staff. The number of customers and hospitality staff fluctuates dramatically with the seasons. The candidate will be managing more staff, engaging with more customers, and working more hours throughout the summer and fall, with slower winters.
