Harris Studios Inc. Named Business of the Month
(Waterloo, NY) The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce and CFCU Community Credit Union have recognized Harris Studios Inc. of Bloomfield as the May 2022 Business of the Month.
Harris Studios Inc. was founded over 20 years ago by Cindy Harris, a plein air painter, illustrator, and graphic designer. She specializes in capturing the essence of the landscape and area in both painting and in design, and most of her clients are in the realm of tourism and travel.
For Harris, fine artwork and design go hand-in-hand. “This piece allowed me to showcase both,” explained Harris, referring to the Chamber’s visitor guide. “I’m a women’s rights advocate as well, so that ties really well into this piece.” The cover of the Chamber’s visitor guide showcases Harris’s painting of When Anthony Met Stanton, a statue located in Seneca Falls which commemorates the meeting of the most influential minds of the women’s rights movement. With the help of Harris’s artwork and design, the Chamber’s visitor guide has won the Tourism Marketing Excellence Award from the State Tourism Industry Association 2 times in the last 5 years.
Harris is heavily involved in the community, serving on the Board of the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes, and teaching plein air classes. “I enjoy opening people’s hearts and minds to healing through art.” Considering that passion, she also started writing a blog in response to the pandemic.
