Job Title: Visitor Information Specialist

 

About the Job:

As a Visitor Information Specialist for the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce (Discover Seneca), you will help promote Seneca County and its tourism community by assisting visitors and guiding them to travel destinations that suit their interests.

 

Hours and Compensation:

The Visitor Information Specialist positions are part-time, offering 4-hour daily shifts. Currently available shifts are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Pay rate is minimum wage.

 

Traits We’re Looking For:

  • A passion for the Finger Lakes area.
  • Sociable, enjoys meeting with and talking to people.
  • Inquisitive with a penchant for gathering information.

 

(Some of) What You’ll Do:

  • Attend a Visitor Information Kiosk and interact with travelers in a friendly and helpful way to assist them with their travel information needs.
  • Assist in tracking visitation trends by collecting data during interactions with travelers and entering them into Microsoft Excel.
  • Maintain the brochure racks at the Visitor Information Kiosk and coordinate with the Chamber Office to order inventory.
  • Assist the Chamber during their annual events (Annual Dinner, Membership Celebration, Golf Tournament).
  • Attend a mobile Visitor Information Kiosk and assist travelers during select tourism events (Sampson Dog Show, Cycle the Erie).

 

 Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Seneca County and the area's tourism destinations.
  • Ability to use a Windows PC and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Excellent communication/customer service skills.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.
