Seneca County Chamber Hosts Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Glove House Reopening
The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce recently joined community members, local leaders, and representatives from across the region to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Glove House Children and Family Services at the Finger Lakes Premium Outlets in Waterloo.
The event marked an exciting new chapter for the organization as it officially opened its new location in Suite 53 at the outlets. Chamber staff and board members were joined by elected officials, business leaders, and community supporters to recognize the important work Glove House has provided to children and families for more than five decades.
Guests enjoyed raffles and giveaways during the celebration, while hearing remarks from Dr. Keith McGriff, CEO and President of Glove House, as well as local leaders and officials. Seneca County Chamber of Commerce President Jeff Shipley also shared remarks, welcoming the organization back to Waterloo and recognizing its continued commitment to serving families throughout the region.
Glove House has a longstanding history in Seneca County, having previously operated in Waterloo before relocating to Canandaigua for a brief period. The organization’s return to Waterloo reflects its continued dedication to providing accessible, community-based services where they are needed most.
Founded in the 1960s as a single group home for teenage boys in Elmira, New York, Glove House has grown into a private, not-for-profit youth advocacy organization serving children and families across 14 counties in New York State. Over the years, the agency has expanded its programs and services to meet the evolving needs of communities, offering support in areas including mental health services, educational assistance, foster care, residential care, and family support programs.
Glove House’s mission is centered on meeting children and families where they are and helping them build brighter futures through compassionate care, advocacy, and individualized support. Since its founding, the organization has assisted more than 10,000 families, and in 2023 alone, Glove House served 496 children and adults through its various programs and services.
The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce congratulates Glove House Children and Family Services on its grand opening and welcomes the organization back to Waterloo. The Chamber looks forward to supporting Glove House as it continues its vital work of strengthening children, families, and communities throughout the Finger Lakes region.
